Stranahan Supporting Organization Fund Awards Grants Totaling $297,937

The Stranahan Supporting Organization of Toledo Community Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $297,937 to these ten organizations and initiatives:

• Arts Commission of Greater Toledo – $27,000 was awarded to support creative placemaking activities in the Old West End Neighborhood Initiatives community. 

• Aspire – $22,500 was awarded to support the general operations of Aspire, a data-driven, collective impact strategy to advance the success of Lucas County children from cradle to career.

• Beach House, Inc., dba Leading Families Home – $27,000 was awarded to support emergency shelter and supportive housing services for homeless families. 

• Center of Hope Family Services, Inc. – $29,200 was awarded to support job readiness training and supportive services for low-income families.

• Green and Healthy Homes Initiative – $46,033 was awarded to support coordination and facilitation of a community-wide initiative to improve the health and well-being of low-income children and their families by creating efficiencies in the delivery of housing interventions. 

• Diabetes Youth Services – $22,500 was awarded to support programming for children with diabetes. 

• Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio – $27,000 to support the Promise Program, which provides emergency assistance to kidney patients.

 Polly Fox Academy – $23,670 was awarded to support student service programming for pregnant and parenting teens.

• Toledo-Lucas County CareNet – $27,000 was awarded to support care coordination services for low-income recipients of CareNet healthcare services.

• TutorSmart of Greater Toledo – $46,034 was awarded to support start-up expenses of a new community-wide initiative to improve afterschool and out of school academic tutoring. 

The Stranahan Supporting Organization does not accept unsolicited grant proposals. The fund provides support to programs that enhance access to education opportunities, health care and cultural opportunities.
